QUINCY TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A delivery driver’s call about a suspicious Jeep Wrangler led to the arrest of a Quincy Township man on Monday after a brief police pursuit.
Branch County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the area of 179 Castle Pine Drive after the caller reported being followed to a residence. The driver, later identified as Ronnie Marshall, briefly exchanged words with the caller before driving off toward Wildwood Road. Deputies were speaking with the caller when the suspect vehicle reappeared and parked at the Marble Lake Public Access, leading to a traffic stop.
During contact, deputies suspected Marshall of operating while intoxicated and driving without a valid license, requesting him to exit the vehicle. Marshall allegedly refused the order, put the vehicle in drive, and fled the scene.
Deputies pursued Marshall for a short distance before apprehending him at a residence on Williams Drive. He was booked into the Branch County Jail on charges including Fleeing and Eluding, Operating While Intoxicated 3rd Offense, No License, and Transporting Open Intoxicants.
Marshall was arraigned in Branch County 3A District Court Tuesday and his bond was set at $25,000 cash or surety.
