COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Plans are moving forward for the establishment of a Branch County Employee Assistance Program.
County Administrator Frank Walsh told the Board of Commissioners during their work session on Thursday that a county employee approached him recently about potential services.
He says the employee was particularly interested in mental health counseling for her middle school child.
Walsh added they had effective Employee Assistance Programs at other places where he has worked at.
He asked the Commissioners on Thursday to create such a program that would start on January 1, 2026. The service would be provided by a local therapist and be available in-person or by Zoom.
Walsh does not expect the annual cost to exceed $20,000 and it will be reviewed at the end of 2026.
