COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch Intermediate School District (ISD) has scheduled a public hearing to gather community input regarding its application for a waiver that would allow the district to start the school year before Labor Day, beginning with the 2026-2027 academic year.
The hearing will take place on Monday, , at 2:00 PM at the Administration Building, located at 370 Morse Street in Coldwater.
The primary purpose of the requested waiver is to align the Branch County Early College program—an approved early middle college program—with the calendars of its partner colleges.
The synchronization is intended to better support students enrolled in the program.
Members of the public, including parents, students, and community stakeholders, are encouraged to attend the meeting and provide comments specifically related to the proposed waiver.
