COLON, MI (WTVB) – A house fire which killed a man Saturday night north of Colon is still under investigation by the Michigan State Police Fire Marshal’s Office and the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office.
The name of the homeowner who died in the fire has not been released.
The fire was reported at about 8:00 p.m. in the 31,000 block of Depot Street in Leonidas Township.
The home was fully engulfed in flames by the time the first crews arrived making any rescue attempt impossible.
The victim’s body was recovered after the fire was extinguished.
