COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Sheriff’s Department will be taking part Saturday in the United States Drug Enforcement Agency’s National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.
Undersheriff Keith Eichler says the hours will be from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Sheriff’s Department office on Marshall Road.
There will be a drop box at the Sheriff’s Office as well as at the Branch County Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence Shelterhouse on North Michigan Avenue.
If you have expired, unused or unnecessary prescription drugs, you are being encouraged to take them to a drop off point and dispose of them safely. That way, they will stay out of the wrong hands.
Once collected, the drugs will be incinerated and the ashes will be safely disposed of in a landfill.
Items that will not be accepted include needles, asthma inhalers, mercury thermometers, iodine-containing medications as well as illicit drugs or substances
