COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Downtown Development Authority Board of Directors approved a resolution Wednesday morning which allows the D.D.A. to be one of the sponsors for next May’s Cultural Jubilee.
The board agreed to be a sponsor for the third annual free event at a cost of $1,500.
The Cultural Jubilee is intended to celebrate the many cultural identities and traditions in Coldwater and Branch County.
The Community Center is the coordinating organization once again. Close to 30 vendors were present this past May. Food trucks represented three different cultures and there were seven entertainment groups which demonstrated cultural dances and music.
Event Chair Lisa Renshaw said five vendors have already signed up for the event in the Tibbits Plaza which is scheduled for May 16, 2026.
She said Meijer, the CBPU, Michigan Gas Utilities, the Early Bird Exchange Club and the Altrusa Club have all agreed to be sponsors.
In other business, the D.D.A. Board approved a donation of $625 towards the Coldwater Main Street Love Local soup and chili tasting event at various downtown businesses which is scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026. The event once again will be free thanks to a number of sponsorships.
