COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Daytime traffic tie-ups are expected through Friday on I-69 south of Coldwater as crews pull high-voltage transmission lines across the expressway.
Michigan State Police are stopping both north and southbound traffic for about 15 minutes at a time between the U.S. 12 and Fenn Road exits during the day.
City of Coldwater officials even though the contractor coordinated with the Michigan Department of Transportation, they weren’t notified by the state prior to the work. The closures on I-69 caused more traffic through the city as vehicles avoided the back-ups.
The work is part of the replacement of high-voltage transmission lines between Jackson and Coldwater.
