COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Just ahead of the annual Holiday Food Basket Distribution, the Coldwater Knights of Columbus Council 2900 has donated $2,500 to the Branch Area Food Pantry.
Over 1,200 holiday themed food boxes are expected to be handed out Saturday from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
The food pantry regularly serves over 900 families each month, and they says each dollar donated to the pantry allows them to purchase up to four dollars worth of food.
Knights of Columbus officials say the donation was done in line with their mission as a Catholic fraternal organization, which among other things includes financially supporting charities and those who are in need.
