COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council passed a resolution Monday night which approved the permanent change of traffic on South Monroe from U.S. 12 to Pearl Street to one way.
The one way street included angled parking and it was originally planned to provide more parking during work in the Chandler Plaza parking lot.
City Manager Keith Baker said it has gotten mostly positive comments in recent months.
Mayor Tom Kramer acknowledged not everybody was happy. He said heard the comment that it might be a little narrow with the parallel parking but Kramer added businesses that had parallel parking in front of them did not want to lose it.
The Downtown Development Authority recommended to the City Council last month that the one way traffic configuration and angled parking be made permanent.
