COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council adopted a Memorandum of Understanding and Agreement between the city and Branch County Government on Monday night that outlines terms and conditions for the city’s use of a channel on the county’s radio system.
The City and the CBPU previously approved the purchase of portable radio units from J & K Communications who will program, install and interconnect them with the Branch County Central Dispatch system.
The radios will be used by the city’s Department of Municipal Services and the CBPU.
The Branch County Board of Commissioners have already adopted an annual fee beginning on January 1 to be paid to Branch County Central Dispatch. City Manager Keith Baker says the radio purchase was included in the current fiscal year 2025-26 budget.
