COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The City of Coldwater’s Dr. Browne Recreation Center will re-open this Monday, January 18 with limited hours.
The building was initially closed last March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It reopened in early October with limited hours but closed again a month later due to a surge of COVID-19 cases.
The Browne Recreation Center will be open this Monday for non-contact sports, walkers, and yoga. As things continue to progress positively, officials say there will be additional options and activities.
The initial hours of operation will be Sundays from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Fridays from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m..
Masks must be worn at all times. There will be no exceptions.

Staff members will screen visitors to the building and check their temperature before they enter. There will be no access to the locker rooms; however, bathrooms will be available.
Only participants will be allowed in the Center, no spectators will be allowed at this time.
There will be no access to drinking fountains. All passes will remain frozen until your first visit.
Free yoga, sponsored by Southern Michigan Bank and Trust, will start up on Monday.
It’s hoped that by following the Governor’s orders, there will by additional activities opening soon.
