Pam was born May 18, 1957, to David R. Rider and Merle Nichols in Lima, OH. She later met and married Anthony J. Miller June 4, 1977. Pam was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church and a devout Catholic. Her faith was a pillar of strength in her life.
Pam spent many years working as a nurse in the ER and cardiac rehab, before going back to get her master’s degree in nursing. She then became a nurse practitioner specializing in caring for those with diabetes. It was in Pam’s nature to love and care for others. She went on many medical mission trips to help those in need.
Pam had a passion for the arts. She was a member of the community band and the church choir. She also played the trumpet, piano, organ, and even the ukelele. She was also an avid gardener and crafter, spending her leisure time growing flowers, quilting blankets, and making gifts for her loved ones.
Pam enjoyed being active and spending time outdoors. She loved to spend summer days at the cottage on the lake, sailing and boating. And in the wintertime, she went skiing out west with her family. She also loved watching sports, always rooting for The Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan State Spartans. She loved to travel as well, spending time both across the United States, as well as abroad.
Pam was a loving wife, sister, mother, and grandmother. Her family meant the world to her, evident by the time she spent going to high school sporting events, babysitting at a moment’s notice, and gathering her family together every holiday. She visited her sister and extended family in Ohio often and never hesitated to go beyond what was asked with family.
Pam is survived by her husband Anthony “Tony” Miller; her children David (Jenny Flemming) Miller; Brian (Mandy) Miller; Derek (Kristi) Miller; her siblings Patricia (Bill) Sherbourne; Robert “Bob” (Becky) Rider; Gary Rider; her grandchildren Allison Miller; Caroline Miller; Grant Miller; Gavin Miller; Dutch Miller; and many other loving nieces, nephews and family members.
Pam is preceded in death by her parents; David “Dick” Rider and Merle Rider; stepmother Geri Rider; and brother Richard (Gertrude) Rider Jr.
Memorial donations may be directed to the Humane Society of Branch County.
