COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Treasurer’s office is a very busy place and a lot busier than Ann Vrablic ever expected it to be.
Vrablic has been the County Treasurer since 2013, being re-elected to a second four year term in 2016. She spoke this week at Tuesday’s meeting of the Coldwater Noon Rotary Club and detailed the Treasurer’s duties, which include being the custodian of all 100 of the county’s fund accounts and all of the revenue coming to the county, such as delinquent and real property taxes.
And as Vrablic told the Rotarians, that’s just the start of it. They also handle the revenue from all county departments, such as the Sheriff’s Department, the Commission on Aging, 9-1-1, District Health, Maple Lawn, Road Commission, Department of Health and Human Services, the courts, Veterans Affairs, the Branch County Memorial Airport, etc.
The Treasurer’s Office also sells dog licenses, 4,000 to 5,000 of them annually.
Vrablic is married to Branch County Commissioner Don Vrablic and told the Rotary Club that his post on the commission doesn’t afford her any special privileges
