QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Orioles boys basketball team could not overcome a 35 percent shooting night as they lost to the Onsted Wildcats 52-43 on Friday night inside of the Coolest Gym in Michigan.
The Orioles never led in the game. They were behind 10-5 after the first quarter and 29-21 at the half.
A 10-8 third quarter put the Wildcats ahead 39-29. Quincy scored the first four points of the fourth quarter to trim the Wildcats lead to six at 39-33 but they could get no closer.
Besides the off shooting night, the Orioles were also rebounded by the Wildcats 30-27.
Quincy’s Braylon Estlow scored a game-high 17 points which included five buckets from beyond the arc. His teammate Alex Dunn had 16 points and six rebounds.
Rylan Henagan and Bryson Sutherland led a balanced Onsted attack with 11 points each while Cole Wells grabbed 11 rebounds.
The loss dropped the Orioles record to 1-1.
Quincy won the J.V. game 55-34.
