COLDWATER, MI — The spirit of innovation will to the slopes of Kiwanis Hill on Saturday, January 24, as the Coldwater Kiwanis Club hosts its annual Cardboard Sled Races, a beloved highlight of the city’s Winter Fest.
This free, family-friendly event, presented by the City of Coldwater’s Recreation Department, promises a day of creative competition and winter fun at Heritage Park.
The competition is split into three classes, challenging participants to construct functional sleds using only cardboard and tape.

Class II (ages 9 to 17)
Class III (adults and teams), which includes a special challenge among local service clubs for the coveted cardboard trophy.
Prizes, including gift cards and trophies, will be awarded not only to the sleds that travel the furthest distance but also for the most spectacular and creative designs.
Beyond the thrills of the race, Winter Fest attendees can enjoy a variety of other activities at Heritage Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., including horse-drawn wagon rides, live wood carvings, sled dog demonstrations, inflatables, and free hot chocolate and s’mores.
