BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – On opening night of the Big 8 boys basketball campaign, Bronson was the only Branch County team to register a victory, as they picked up a 72-43 road win at Reading to improve to 1-2 overall. The Vikings will host Concord on Friday.
Quincy lost at Concord 58-47, dropping the Orioles to 1-2 overall. They will visit Reading on Friday.
In girls basketball, visiting Centreville edged Bronson 41-40, spoiling the coaching debut of Viking alumnus Annie McGuire. Bronson is idle until next Tuesday, when they visit Reading.
