COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The City of Coldwater along with Arts Alive is co-sponsoring a mural project which will be installed near the Rotary Splash Pad at Heritage Park.
Those interested can submit a design which will be painted on the cinder block wall next to the splash park at no cost.
Designs should compliment the park and splash pad in color and theme and must incorporated a water motif. The artwork must conform to the dimensions of the wall next to the splash pad which is about 12 feet high and 80 feet wide.
All designs have to be submitted to the Tibbits Opera House, in care of Arts Alve, 93 West Chicago in Coldwater.
The deadline is December first. The Arts Alive board and a panel of judges will narrow the entries to the top three which will then be voted on by the public in January.
The winning design will then be painted on the splash pad by a mural artist along with the help of community members.
Mural artists interested in painting the mural are asked to fill out a Public Art Request for Proposal application which are located at the City of Coldwater offices. You can also download one by going to www.coldwater.org.
