PARMA, MI (WTVB) – In boys high school tennis, Coldwater finished fourth at the Interstate 8 Conference Tournament Tuesday, which was hosted by Parma Western. Parma Western came in first with 59 points followed by Lumen Christi with 53 points, Harper Creek was third with 47 and Coldwater was fourth with 41 points. Marshall, Pennfield, Jackson Northwest and Hastings rounded out the standings.
Top Finishers for Coldwater were: No. 1 doubles Sam Morrison/Alec Keplinger came in 2nd, No. 1 singles Noach Waterbury came in 3rd along with No. 2 doubles Bryce Lafferty/Zach Rigot at 3rd. Also coming in 3rd was 4th doubles Josh Small/Stuart Sobeski.
Coldwater will compete at the regionals Friday in Sturgis.
Bronson’s Brett Sikorski won the number one singles flight at the M.H.S.A.A. Division Four Regionals hosted by Berrien Springs. He advanced to the Division Four State Finals which will be held next Friday and Saturday at Kalamazoo College
===MIDDLE SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL===
The Legg Middle School 7th grade A team lost to Marshall 3-0 (23-25, 17-25, 7-15). On the night MacKenzie Scheid had 6 kills followed by Caroline Miller & Kennedy Clemens 2 each. Emma Porter had 9 digs, Morgan Dancer & Hailey Price each had 5 digs, Payton McBride, Isabella Pool & Kaydence Wing 3 each. At the service line Bella Carrion was 8 – 8 with 1 ace, Scheid was 7 – 7 with 3 aces.
The A team record now stands at 7-4-2 on the year.
