COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Just as we are putting the wrap on 2025, the City of Coldwater is preparing for the first big event of 2026.
Winterfest, scheduled for Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 10:00 a.m.to 2:00 p.m. at Heritage Park.
The free, family-friendly celebration will feature a variety of seasonal outdoor activities centered around the Heritage Park Splash Pad and the Dr. Browne Recreation Center.
Highlights include scenic horse-drawn wagon rides through the park, live wood carving demonstrations, and interactive sled dog presentations. To help guests stay warm, the event will provide inflatables and crafts for children alongside warming stations serving complimentary hot chocolate and s’mores.
The festival’s hallmark attraction, the Cardboard Sled Races, will once again take place at Kiwanis Hill, challenging participants to compete in vessels constructed solely of cardboard and tape. Trophies and prizes will be awarded across various age categories for both the longest distance traveled and the most creative sled designs.
Residents interested in entering the races can access official guidelines and registration forms on the City of Coldwater website https://www.coldwater.org/602/Events-Festivals.
