COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) -What had been rumored for some time became reality Monday night.
The Coldwater Planning Commission officially approved plans to bring a Jersey Mike’s Subs to 571 East Chicago Street.
The national franchise will occupy one of five new commercial units currently being converted from the former Family Video building near the I-69 Exit 13 interchange.
Planning and Zoning Administrator Robert Hawley confirmed the development, noting that while the sandwich chain is moving forward, nearby plans for a potential Dunkin’ Donuts remain unconfirmed at this time.
The Coldwater Jersey Mike’s is expected to open in the late winter or early spring.
The move comes as Jersey Mike’s continues a global expansion following a majority stake acquisition by the private equity firm Blackstone.
The popular sub shop recently opened a new location in Angola.
