BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Just a handful of football games are left on the schedule as the season winds down for the Pigskin Prophet.
The PP stumbled to a 1-3 record in the four CFP quarterfinal games last week with Indiana’s win in the Rose Bowl being the only correct prediction.
But we went 6-2 last week in other bowl games so it was a 7-5 week for our college football predictions.
The CFP semifinal games are set for Thursday and Friday night.
The Pigskin Prophet thinks we will see a national championship game between Indiana and Ole Miss.
In the Fiesta Bowl on Thursday, the PP says Ole Miss 31, Miami (Fla) 21
In the Peach Bowl on Friday, the PP says Indiana 37, Oregon 27
NFL—
The Pigskin Prophet had a miserable week #18 in the NFL, incorrectly predicting wins for the Bears and Packers. As we say on the golf course, the PP is leaking heading into the postseason.
One of the wildcard games this weekend features the Chicago Bears hosting the Green Bay Packers in what basically is the third game of a best-of-three series. Jordan Love will start at quarterback Saturday night for the Pack and that’s a big shot in the arm for Green Bay.
The Bears defense got gashed by the 49ers two weeks ago and Chicago turned in a disappointing performance against the Lions last Sunday. The Bears have been coming from behind all season and you can’t play with fire all of the time. The PP also seems to think the Beras have lost some of their MOJO thanks to back-to-back losses.
The PP thinks the Packers will win at Soldier Field by a field goal, 20-17.

After going 7-7 last week, the PP is now 142-85-1 overall for the season.
