BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – It was a busy Wednesday night for high school wrestling in Branch County as the Bronson Vikings picked up a pair of victories while the Union City Chargers split a pair of matches.
Both teams hosted triangular meets on their home mats.
The Vikings defeated the Reading Rangers 51-25 in a Big 8 Conference battle and they scored a 58-11 triumph over Bellevue.

Union City lost to Springport 42-30 in a Big 8 Conference match before bouncing back to defeat Climax-Scotts 55-24.
The Chargers got wins against Springport from Kaden Russell (sudden victory decision at 126), Mitchell Graham (8-6 decision at 138), Kelub Miller (pin at 150), Carson Danke (pin at 190), William Thompson (void at 215) and from Luke Cronkright (void at 285)
The Chargers had five pins against Climax-Scotts. They were from Westin Connell at 120, Russell at 126, Blayne Crance at 132, Graham at 144 and Isaiah Waidelich at 165.
Other Charger wins against the Panthers came from Gabe Mowry (major decision at 138), Miller (technical fall at 150) and Ezra Hunt (major decision at 157). Maddie Hawthorne at 106 and John Olmsted at 190 won on voids.
