COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater’s annual Winterfest returns on Saturday, January 24, offering a full day of free, family-friendly winter activities from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Dr. Robert Browne Recreation Center, Kiwanis Hill in Heritage Park, and surrounding areas.
Attendees can enjoy food trucks, horse-drawn wagon rides, sled dog demonstrations, free kids’ inflatables, a balloon artist, hot cocoa, s’mores, and a wintery selfie station. The event, supported by local sponsors including Asama Coldwater Manufacturing, Clemens Food Group, and the Coldwater Kiwanis Club, encourages families to embrace the season with a variety of outdoor and indoor fun.
The highlight remains the popular Kiwanis Cardboard Sled Races, featuring a streamlined format with sled check-in from 10-10:30 a.m. inside the Coldwater Recreation Center and races starting at 11 a.m. Classes include ages 8 and under, 9-17, and adults/teams (up to five riders), with prizes awarded for designs and race results.
Participants can register https://coldwater.recdesk.com/Community/Home and attend a free sled-building workshop on January 10 at Heritage Hall. Recreation Department Director Julie Santure invited the community to “come enjoy some free winter activities and embrace the season,” noting plenty of options for families to enjoy.
