BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater JV and varsity bowling teams traveled to M-66 Bowl in Pennfield Sunday to compete in the Battle of the Baker tournament.
The varsity girls team qualified in first place after bowling 12 Baker games and moved on to match play.
The girls went against the Niles team first in a best two out of three game match. The girls won the first two games.
They then bowled Sturgis and won the first game, lost the second and won the third game to move on to the finals against Marshall.
The girls just ran out of steam and lost both games to Marshall and took second place in the tournament!
The JV girls placed 9th place in their division, just 17 pins out of the cut.
The varsity boys qualified in fifth place after bowling 12 Baker games and moved on to match play.
The boys went against the Three Rivers team first in a best of two out of three game match and swept them to move on to take on Flushing team. They won the first game, and lost the next two games.
The boys then bowled South Lyon and lost the first two to finish in fourth place.
The JV boys placed 12th in their division.
Coldwater will travel to Hastings Tuesday to take on the Saxons.
