COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In a match to kick off Purple Week activities Monday at Coldwater High School, the host Cardinals fell in Interstate 8 Conference tennis to Harper Creek 7-1.
The tennis players all wore purple jerseys purchased by community members to honor cancer survivors and victims, with proceeds going to the Cancer Center at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.

No. 3 doubles team of Kyle Sheppard/Ryan Murphy lost to Rau/Leroux 6-7, 7-6, 10-8
No. 4 doubles team of Stuart Sobeski/Josh Small lost to Hooker/Kyger 6-4, 7-5
Coldwater is fourth in the Interstate 8 conference. Their next match is Tuesday at home against Jackson Northwest and then Wednesday away at Hillsdale.
The I-8 Conference tournament is this Saturday. Singles will be played at Spring Arbor College and doulbes will be at Parma Western.
