COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After Branch County Commissioners recently entered into an agreement with Western Michigan University Pathology Services for medical examiner duties, the Commissioners on Tuesday approved the appointment of Dr. Anna Tart as a Deputy Medical Examiner.
WMed has hired Dr. Tart as a forensic pathologist and County Administrator Frank Walsh said she will be part of a group responsible for Branch County.
WMU’s Homer Stryker School of Medicine’s Department of Pathology started providing service to Branch County after the County’s contract with medical examiner Doctor Troy Davis expired. He had been performing medical examiner duties for Branch County since 2004.
Doctor Tart has almost nine years of professional experience and is a graduate of John Brown University in Arkansas.
In other business, the commissioners appointed Dean Walrack to fill an expiring position on the Branch County Planning Commission. His term will run through December 2028.
