COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Time is running out for residents and business owners to secure a spot in the 2026 Coldwater Citizens Academy, with the final registration deadline set for Friday, January 16, 2026.
This free, seven-week program returns after a brief hiatus to provide an exclusive “inside look” at the daily operations of local government and the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities (CBPU).
Participants will engage in interactive presentations and behind-the-scenes tours of various departments, including police, fire, municipal services, and parks and recreation. The academy is scheduled to run every Thursday from 6:00- 8:00 p.m. beginning February 5 and concluding March 19, 2026.
To be eligible for the program, applicants must be at least 18 years old and either reside or work within the City of Coldwater or Coldwater Township.
While the program is open to both groups, city residents will receive priority placement.
Space is limited to between 12 and 20 participants on a first-come, first-served basis, making early registration essential.
Interested individuals can access applications online via the City of Coldwater or request one by calling (517)279-9501.
Completed forms should be submitted via email to ServeOnAboard@coldwater.org before the Friday deadline.
