COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The up and down gas prices locally are on the up side again, as prices spiked nearly 40 cents a gallon this week.
According to www.gasbuddy.com petroleum analyst Patrick DeHaan, drivers are seeing prices over $3 a gallon due to refinery maintenance, an unexpected refinery outage in St. Louis, Missouri, and a decision by OPEC to not raise oil production.
DeHaan says all of those issues are keeping prices higher for the time being even though the switch over to the cheaper winter gasoline has already been made.
As of Friday morning, prices around Coldwater were ranging from $2.96 to $3.04 a gallon.
