Patricia Ann Havens, 69, of Coldwater passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, January 13, 2026, surrounded by family, following a battle with pancreatic cancer.
In keeping with Patty’s wishes, she will be cremated and a celebration of her life will be held in the spring.
The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City.
Born Patricia Ann Baird November 7, 1956 in Albion, Michigan to Harvey and Jean (Cluff) Baird. Patty and her two sisters spent their early years with their grandma Edna Underhill before moving to live with her loving foster parents William “Bill” and Phyllis Underhill. After attending elementary at Quincy schools, she went on to graduate from Coldwater High School in 1974. There, she participated in track and field. A Home Economics class began her lifelong love of sewing.
In 1975, she married Rodney Heath, and together they had two daughters, Pamala and Christina. After the marriage ended, she met and married Union City graduate Grant Havens November 5, 1986 in Angola, Indiana. Throughout their 39 year marriage they raised two sons, Zachary and Alexander. They home schooled their sons for a portion of their elementary years and she did the same for her grandson Kyle.
During her life, she furthered her education by studying physical therapy at KCC and earned her cosmetology license. She held a number of vocations: providing group home care through Adapt of Coldwater, working as a paraprofessional for Coldwater Schools, and self employed as a licensed cosmetologist, practicing at several locations in the Coldwater area.
Patricia enjoyed sewing as a hobby (creating costumes, clothing and quilted blankets for her family), as well as bicycling, hiking, camping, canoeing, and horseback riding. She loved, very much, spending time with her grandchildren.
Residing in Kinderhook, the family attended Bethel Gilead church, where she was a member. Later a member of the Oasis of Love Family Church in Coldwater. Of strong faith, Patty participated in bible study classes and church functions, such as bible release classes for local school children, and distributing food to those in need.
Patricia is survived by her husband Grant Lloyd Havens of Coldwater; her sisters, Shirley (Mike) Ames of Osseo, and Betty (Ed) Salveter of Coldwater; her children, Pamala (Kevin) Cooper, Christina (Pat) Bautista, Zachary (Elizabeth) Havens, and Alexander Havens; as well as nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Jean Baird and her foster parents William and Phyllis Underhill.
