JACKSON, MI (WTVB) – In boys high school soccer, Coldwater stayed in second place in the Interstate 8 Conference with a 2-1 win at Jackson Lumen Christi Thursday.
Mubarak Said scored both goals for the Cardinals, the first seven minutes into the game, assisted by Erik Corona, and the second with 6:30 to play in the game, assisted by Abe Alhjaji. Lumen Christi had tied the game at 1-1 two minutes into the second half on a penalty kick.
Coldwater outshot Lumen Christi 27-1, but only managed the two goals.
The Cardinals are now 4-1-1 in the conference and 9-5-3 overall. They will host Harper Creek Tuesday.
The Coldwater junior varsity team beat Lake Odessa Lakewood 4-0. Brady Arver, Dillon Lawhead, Drayke Fitch, and Ahmed Omar all scored for the Cardinals.

Axel Beltran scored twice for the Orioles while Bryce Pierce scored the other Quincy goal.
