UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – In girls high school volleyball, Union City defeated Olivet 25-17, 26-24 and Michigan Center 25-14, 25-20 Thursday night.
Hope Austin had 20 assists for the Chargers while Bracy Swift had 14 kills, Lillian Bambacht had three blocks and two service aces, Camryn Thomet and Sydney Falkner both had 10 digs while Syndey Markley had two service aces.
===MIDDLE SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL===
Legg Middle School’s eighth grade girls volleyball B team earned their second victory as they defeated Jackson Lumen Christi 2-1 Thursday night. After splitting the first two sets 25-14 and 18-25, the Cardinals took the third game 15-6 to win the match outright.
The Cardinals were lead by Caley Stout who served for 11 points including 6 aces and Chloe Vickers who had 6 aces and 9 service points. Kassidy Shaw, Ashlyn Briton, Abby Jones, and Aleesa Ryan each added one kill.
Legg’s 7th grade A volleyball team defeated Lumen Christi 2-0 (25-10, 25-12) in their Dig Pink game Thursday night to improve there record on the year to 6-2-2.
On the night the young lady cardinals were lead in serving by Bella Carrion 11 – 12 with 5 aces, Morgan Dancer 7 – 8 with 5 aces. MacKenzie Scheid & Carroline Miller both had 3 kills & Kennedy Clemens had 2 kills. In the backrow Scheid had 7 digs to pace the Cardinals followed by Hailey Price , Dancer & Carrion with 4 digs, Payton McBride, Emma Porter & Isabella Pool each had 3 & Kaydence Wing had 2 digs.
