COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Homecoming games will be held tonight in Coldwater, Bronson and Union City during week six of the high school football season in Michigan.

The Coldwater Cardinals hope to get back to the 500 mark and keep their post season hopes alive at Cardinal Field as they’ll host long-time rival Marshall. While the Red Hawks enjoy a big 47-19-2 edge in the series over the last 68 games, the Cardinals have had the edge in recent years winning four out of the last five encounters.
The Cardinals are 2-3 overall and 2-2 in the Interstate 8. They have scored 77 points in their two victories but only 17 points in their three losses. Marshall is 1-4 overall and 1-3 in the conference. Don’t let the record fool you. Three of their losses have been by a total of 11 points.

The 3-2 Quincy Orioles hope to take another step to the post-season tonight at Concord. Quincy is 3-1 in the Big 8. The Orioles defense has two shutouts this season and has not allowed a touchdown in their three conference wins. The Yellow Jackets are also 3-2 overall.
Union City will be looking to end a three game losing streak to Homer in the Chargers homecoming game. The Chargers are 2-3 overall and 1-3 in the Big 8.
Bronson will be celebrating its homecoming against the Reading Rangers who are tied for first place in the Big 8 with Springport. The undefeated and Rangers were ranked sixth in Division Seven in this week’s Michigan Associated Press High School Football poll.
