LENEWEE, COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The murder trial for Dale Warner is scheduled to begin next week in Lenawee County, nearly five years after the disappearance of his wife, Dee Warner.
Warner faces charges of open murder and tampering with evidence following the 2021 vanishing of his wife from their Franklin Township home. During a final pretrial conference on January 14, 2026, both the prosecution and defense confirmed they are prepared to proceed with the proceedings, which are expected to last approximately nine weeks.
The case reached a major turning point in August 2024 when Dee Warner’s remains were discovered hidden inside a sealed anhydrous ammonia tank on one of her husband’s properties.
Prosecutors allege that Dale Warner killed his wife to prevent her from following through with a divorce that would have divided their farming and trucking businesses.
The defense has argued that the case is “riddled with gaps,” citing missing evidence and incomplete interview recordings, while Warner has maintained his innocence throughout the investigation.
