COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch Intermediate School District Board of Education approved changes to the district’s policy for use of the Waldron Learning Center Wednesday.
Director of Special Education Darrin Adair said they have had an influx of requests for the use of the gym. One policy change calls for the building not to be used or rented after custodial work hours.
Exceptions maybe granted to current employees if they are in attendance at an event.
After an oversight was caught, tobacco products are no longer allowed and all damage has to be reported to the Waldron Building Administrative Assistant. School functions would take precedence for facility use.
The use of district facilities will also not be granted for private social functions and any purpose which is prohibited by law. While there would be no cost for activities related to the educational program and district operations, fees will be charged for religious use of district facilities in order to avoid any direct or indirect district financial support of religious activities.
