BETHEL TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Six people who were in two vehicles that collided on Block Road near Kosmerick Road just before noon Tuesday escaped with minor injuries.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Department says 86-year-old Howard Garman of Coldwater was trying to make a left turn at about 11:50 a.m. when he collided with a vehicle driven by 61-year-old Claude Monroe of New York.
There were four passengers in the Monroe vehicle. Garman told deputies he never saw the other vehicle as he was turning.
Airbags were deployed but both vehicles were damaged enough to require being towed from the scene.
Garman was cited for failure to yield.
All of the injuries were minor. One person in the Monroe vehicle was taken to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital. The other injured persons were treated at the scene by Life Care Ambulance. The Bronson Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
