PORTAGE, MI (WTVB) – In girls high school volleyball Saturday, Bronson defeated Battle Creek Lakeview 2-1 (25-15, 25-27, 15-12) to win the Portage Northern Huskie Invitational.
Kiera Lasky had 70 digs, while Meagan Lasky had 133 assists and 39 digs. Keona Salesman finished with 55 kills, while Ashton Wronikowski served 14 aces
Coldwater finished second in the Silver Division at the Caledonia Invitational Saturday.
The Legg Middle School 7th grade A volleyball team played in the Marshall Redhawk tournament Saturday and lost to Marshall in the semi-finals. In pool play Coldwater split with Hastings 25-23 24-26 & Western 25-18 17-25 then defeated Harper Creek 25-21 25-15. In bracket play Coldwater defeated Jackson Northwest 25-19 25-11 then lost to Marshall 14-25 15-25 to end the day with a overall record of 2-1-2.
On the day, the Cardinals were led in kills by McKenzie Scheid with 10, Emma Porter & Caroline Miller with 4 & Kaydence Wing with 2. Coldwater dig leaders were Scheid with 35, Miller 29, Porter 21, Kennedy Clemens 14 & Isabella Pool 10. At the service line Hailey Price was 25-28 with 13 aces, Bella Carrion 14-18 with 3 aces, Morgan Dancer 11-13 & Payton McBride 4-5 1 ace.
The 7th grade A team overall season record now stands at 4-1-2 on the year.
