BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – In girls basketball action Tuesday night, Coldwater had little difficulty at Pennfield as they won 49-22 on the Panthers’ home floor. The Cardinals led 11-3 after one, 25-5 at halftime, and 36-11 after three.
Mya Porter almost had a double-double; she finished with 16 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and 5 steals to lead Coldwater. Rylie VanAken had 9 points on three triples and added 4 boards, 2 assists, and 4 steals.
Coldwater improved to 10-7 overall and 8-2 in the Interstate 8. They are idle until next Monday’s contest at Sturgis.
Elsewhere, Bronson fell to 4-11 with a 44-31 loss at Buchanan, while Quincy fell to 9-7 as they lost at Charlotte 49-39. The Vikings will host the Orioles on Thursday.
In Big 8 boys basketball, Union City dropped a 66-41 decision to Stockbridge at the McNett Fieldhouse. The Chargers fell to 5-13 overall, 4-7 in the Big 8, and will host Delton Kellogg Wednesday night.
