COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Hillsdale County man who was one of two suspects arrested following a St. Patrick’s weekend fight was found guilty of assault with a dangerous weapon and resisting arrest by a Branch County Circuit Court jury Wednesday.
22-year old Tyler Lovell of Pittsford was convicted following a two day trial. He is scheduled to be sentenced October 22, 2018.
The co-defendant in the case, 21-year old Kyle Macey of Jonesville, entered a guilty plea August 27 to a charge of aggravated assault. In exchange for his plea, prosecutors dismissed a charge of assault with a weapon.
Macey is scheduled to be sentenced October 8, 2018.
The two men were arrested by Coldwater Police following a brawl on Walnut Street which sent two persons to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
The two injured persons had reportedly come to the aid of a woman who was allegedly pushed to the ground by one of the suspects.
