COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Community School officials have scheduled two parent meetings for next Monday, September 17, which will provide updates on the ALICE critical incident response training program.
ALICE is a national program which stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate in an active shooter situation
It employs a set of responses in case an active shooter or an aggressive intruder gets into a school building.
Coldwater Community Schools Superintendent Terry Boguth told her Board of Education recently that the ALICE training session the district hosted in August went well.
She said 18 staff members are now certified trainers and they can train other members of the staff.
The Board of Education approved a three year master service agreement with the ALICE Training Institute of Medina, Ohio last March.
For parents who have children in Legg Middle School or Coldwater High School, the parent meeting will be held at 6:45 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. You’re asked to enter the building through the rear athletic lobby off of Green Street.
The meeting for parents with children in kindergarten through fifth grade will be held at Jefferson Elementary School at 5:30 p.m..
