COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Three Anderson, Indiana residents were arrested on I-69 near U.S. 12 Sunday morning, for being in possession of a stolen gun.
Michigan State Police say a trooper stopped a southbound vehicle after it was observed traveling at 115 miles an hour at about 2:00 a.m.. While the driver had an Indiana drivers license, the two passengers had no identification on them. A woman in the vehicle was also wanted in Anderson, Indiana on a felony charge.
During the traffic stop, a trooper saw a loaded Ruger semi-Automatic pistol in the vehicle. A check in the National Crime Information Computer showed that the gun had been stolen in Anderson.
According to Michigan State Police, all of the vehicle occupants refused to give any information about the stolen gun.All three were lodged in the Branch County Jail for possession of stolen property. Names were not released pending arraignments in Branch County District Court.
