COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council tonight will consider ordinances 881 and 882 to modernize parking regulations, which include increasing fines for front yard and 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. street parking to a flat $25.00 to boost compliance.
The amendments proposed by Public Safety Director Joseph A. Scheid aim to deter repeat offenders and simplify code language by moving front yard parking regulations into the Uniform Traffic Code.
The changes would address outdated fees that have remained unchanged since 1996 and aim to improve clarity for residents. If adopted, the ordinances will take effect 21 days after publication, providing the Coldwater Police Department with more effective enforcement mechanisms.
