Santiago “Sandy” Stockwell Jr. was born January 28, 1978 in Coldwater to Santiago Stockwell Sr. and Janice R. Wiseman.
From an early age, he carried a strong spirit and a heart that felt deeply. He loved his children and his family immeasurably. He carried them in his heart, and that love never wavered. He spent many years working as a chef in Coldwater and was truly extraordinary at his craft. Outside of work, his dishes were just as delicious, particularly for those lucky enough to sit at his table for his eggs and rice.
He was a deeply spiritual soul who felt most at peace in nature. He loved being outside, grounding himself, reconnecting with the earth, and spending time in horticulture. He reminded those around him to slow down, to notice the simple things, and to stay connected to what truly matters. He had an incredible love for animals, especially rescue cats. He gave his love to those who needed it most and had a soft heart for any creature in need.
Sandy was incredibly funny, quick with a smile, and never afraid to be exactly who he was. He lived unapologetically and authentically. His laughter, his warmth, and his unique spirit left a lasting imprint on everyone who knew him. He will be remembered most for the love he had for his children, his family, his friends, and every life he touched. His big heart and the comfort he brought to others will never be forgotten. He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
Sandy is survived by his parents, Santiago “Sandy” Stockwell Sr. and Janice (Paul) Vironet; his children, Jaidyn Stockwell, Delilah Chatfield, Dakota Featherstone, and McKenzie Stockwell; his sisters, Jennifer Stockwell and Angie Berry; his granddaughter, Melanie Lockwood; his niece, Kaila Christopher; many other loving family members and friends; and his cats, Mama, Princess, and Tom.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his sister, Lisa Stockwell.
Memorial donations may be directed to the family, with checks payable to Paul Vironet.
