COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In high school football, the Coldwater Cardinals play their first home game of the season tonight as defending Division 6 state champion Jackson Lumen Christi visits Cardinal Field.
Lumen Christi has picked up where they left off in 2017. Mick McCabe of the Detroit Free Press has ranked Lumen Christi as the top Division Six team in Michigan. The Titans have beaten Coldwater 29 out of 30 times. The only Coldwater victory came in 2015 when the Cardinals got all the way to the state semifinals.
Game time is 7:00 p.m.. Coverage on AM 1590 and FM 95.5 WTVB starts at 6:30 p.m..

Union City plays at Alumni Field for the first in 2018 tonight as they will host Branch County rival Quincy. Both teams are 1-1. The Orioles won their conference opener 47-0 at Bronson last week while Union City lost a tough 22-20 decision at Springport.
It’s Team of Fame Recognition Night in Union City. The following teams will be honored: 1948-1949 Football & Boys Basketball, 1985-1986 Football, 1996-1997 Softball, as well as Union City Volleyball teams from 2005, 2006 and 2007.
Bronson travels to Springport to take on the Spartans whose offense has put up 69 points in the first two games.
