COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – All four Branch County boys basketball teams enter the district semifinals tonight, looking to keep their postseason runs alive.
In Division 1 action at Sturgis , the Coldwater Cardinals (12-11) face off against Battle Creek Central (9-10) at 7 p.m., following their narrow 55-53 opening-round victory over Gull Lake.
A win tonight would propel the Cardinals into Friday’s MHSAA District #10 final, against the Sturgis (11-12) vs Loy Norrix (14-7) winner, with a trip to the Division 1 Regional #3 at Loy Norrix on the line beginning March 3.
The county’s Division 3 contenders are also in action tonight across two different sites. At Centreville High School, the top-seeded Bronson Vikings (10-12) open their postseason quest against White Pigeon at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Union City Chargers (6-16) taking on the host Bulldogs at 7 p.m.
Meanwhile, at Hillsdale, the Quincy Orioles (10-11) look to knockout the host Hornets at 7 p.m.
Each winner tonight will move on to their respective MHSAA District Finals this Friday night.
