BRONSON, MI – The high school girls basketball season concluded Thursday for most schools in Michigan. Union City traveled to cross-county rival Bronson and earned a 64-46 win.
Ellie Williams led the Chargers with 15 points, Calli Wilkinson had 10 points and 7 rebounds, Brooke Thomas added 8 points, and Lilly Eyre pulled down 8 boards.
Union City improved to 16-6 overall and finished third in the final Big 8 standings at 10-4. They will host a Division 3 Girls Basketball District next week at the McNett Fieldhouse and will face either Constantine or Bronson next Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the District Semifinals.
The Vikings fell to 5-16 overall and 5-9 in the Big 8, good for sixth place. They will play at White Pigeon Friday afternoon at 5 p.m. prior to the start of their tournament run.
Quincy lost to visiting Stockbridge 46-35 in the regular season finale. The Orioles fell to 11-10 overall and 8-6 in the Big 8, finishing fourth in the final league standings. They will host a Division 3 District next week and will face Hillsdale next Monday at 7 p.m.
