QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Quincy’s girls basketball team asserted themselves from the opening tip of their MHSAA Division 3 Girls Basketball District first round game against Hillsdale. The Orioles led 22-2 after the first quarter and 39-7 at halftime, while forcing 18 Hornet turnovers in the first half, as they cruised to a 57-26 victory Monday night.
Ashlyn Fickle had a double-double to lead the way, with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Josi Parker scored 10, and Kendyl Musielewicz added 8 while Miley Poindexter pulled down 6 boards.
Quincy improved to 12-10 overall and will take on Hudson Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the first game of a District Semifinal twinbill at The Coolest Gym in Michigan. Homer and Jonesville will play in Wednesday’s second game.
Kherington Ladd led Hillsdale with 10 points. The Hornets closed out their season at 3-20.
