COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Early Bird Exchange Club has started a new spotlight for the club, designed to put smiles on the faces of kids and cheer up children.
The new feature, which was put on display for the first time at yesterday morning’s weekly Early Bird meeting, involves what the club calls the “Exchange Bear”. The cuddly toy bear is presented as a thank you to guest speakers and then is given to a child in need on behalf of the speaker.
Wednesday’s “Exchange Bear” was received by Deputy Roy Shutts from the Branch County Sheriff’s Department. Shutts delivered a program on the upcoming November ballot question in Michigan to legalize the use of marijuana for recreational purposes.
