ANN ARBOR, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – All athletic activities at the University of Michigan have been put on hold due to the pandemic.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services made the announcement Saturday, saying that the entire athletic department could be in for a two-week quarantine period.
The decision was made partly due to the appearance of the variant B.1.1.7, which is the target of a more stringent strategy from the MDHHS.
It is not known if the shutdown will last past February 7, nor whether any cancelled games will be made up.
