GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A recently-elected congressman from West Michigan who voted to impeach former President Trump has drawn fire from some Republicans, including one who says he is ready to face Peter Meijer in a primary in two years.
Tom Norton, a Trump supporter, says he’s already getting contributions for a future run.
Meijer, who represents the Grand Rapids area, is one of 10 GOP representatives who voted to impeach the former President for his actions during the recent riot at the U.S. Capitol January 6.
Congressman Fred Upton also voted to impeach, and there are rumblings that a primary opponent is being sought for him as well.
