COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater City Manager Keith Baker said during Monday night’s City Council meeting that progress in the Chandler Plaza parking lot project has been steady.
Baker reported that utility installation and rough grading of the parking lot is done and the first concrete is scheduled to be poured this week if the weather cooperates. Baker acknowledged the closing of the parking lot has created an inconvenience but he pointed out the city and the Downtown Development Authority has been conducting a “pardon our dust” campaign which pointed out alternative parking areas in the downtown area.
Work on the parking lot began in April and it’s hoped everything will be done by late October.
The Coldwater DDA board and the City Council approved design plans last year that call for 90 degree parking and 116 parking spaces.
